" ........
Rochester could become the first U.S. city to join the Intercultural City Initiative, an opportunity Brede said he would this year present to the city council.
"We would be joining more than 60 cities in Europe, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Canada providing measurable progress toward a vision of a more inclusive, cohesive and equitable city supporting a strong and diverse economy," Brede said.

J2G D&I Committee meeting with Mayo Brede December 4, 2015
Meeting was at the mayor's office on December 4, 2015, 8:30. Mayor Brede, Randy Staver, Barbra Jordan, Rebeca Sedarski, Torres Hodges, Duane Sauke, Melissa Brinkman in attendance.
Presentation of the project was followed by the direct ask for financial support. Some clarifying questions were asked by Mr Staver and Mayor Brede. This led to the unresolved concern about the ongoing staffing of the initiative.
We presented a 5 year expenditure plan that included the initial support of $10,000 followed by annual costs of $7000 per year.
Structure of support was $10000 initial payment from the city and 5 years of annual support at a reduced donation.
Proposal included a commitment by the committee to secure additional support agencies to participate in the annual payments. Meeting adjourned with the the general acceptance that the mayor and president supported the structure and process. They would investigate and secure commitment from the city administration and council.
