In August 2016, the RPS Community Focus Team brought forward a set of recommendations to address the OCR findings issues
Questions:
1. What has happened since then and how can community groups and members get engaged?

RPS Community Focus Team Recommendations to the school Board
The following points were captured from the youtube video .
1. By 2018, provide ongoing education and dialog with our teachers on cultural relevance, courageous conversations, addressing structural racism, and privilege to assist teachers in creating an equitable environment for our students and families.
(a) Professional Development ; (b) Electronic Share Folder: Articles Research, book titles, Links; (c) Intercultural Inventory , Staff access to development inventory for understanding differences (IDI) (d) Team of Champions ; (e) District Equity Specialists/Coaches
2. By fall 208, the district will pilot a research based multicultural curriculum/programming and cultural training for staff at the early childhood, elementary, middle and high school levels.
3. By September 2017, the district will have a plan in place to improve college and career readiness
4. By September 2017, develop community partnership and outreach in P-12 for underrepresented families that teaches how to navigate involvement
5. By September 2017, Minority Liaisons, Transition Specialists, Native American Liaison, Community Ed, Family & Community Engagement and ...
