Notes and presentation from July Housing Conversation hosted by Kim Norton.
Kim's Notes
We had a presentation about TIF, a speaker from the Bear Creek Ministries Housing development, a speaker from the Rochester Area Foundation Housing Group and a speaker from AEON/The Rose Housing development in Minneapolis. Then attendees asked questions of the speakers before providing ideas and listed pros & cons to ideas that are being utilized elsewhere in the state and country. The notes reflect the comments they shared on paper. Speakers provided a few handouts and I have included the ones I had electronically on TIF & AEON .
The point was made by multiple speakers as well as builders in attendance that from start to finish, any new construction can expect to take five years before units are available which makes utilizing a variety of options wise given the level of need.
