June 2024 Rochester Vision 2050 Community Engagement

Our city has undertaken a broad array of initiatives to create a bright future for her citizens and constituencies. These should be guided by a clear, optimistic, aspirational vision. 2050: Far enough for limitless possibilities; close enough to begin today to serve Rochester’s next generation and beyond. Vision 2050 Steering Committee guides this initiative A large volunteer group will put “Vision in Action”, using co-design to engage the community to share ideas and priorities for Rochester’s future.

Admin Message

Good Afternoon, Steering Committee and VIA Action Team ~ Thank you, as always, for your feedback and input at last week’s meeting!

If you recall, there were some homework assignments:

1—Please review the list of Rochester’s many diverse communities (one last time) and identify any communities/audiences who are missing: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1st4-lJ0G-AowfvK8L8daYhq1D0Rve4FL587FKg5_A7s/edit?usp=sharing

2—Please review the list of Rochester groups, organizations, and agencies and add any that might be missing: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-DA-WCisutJNxHY8AoN1QBrGhnSlPW9rj9B6nsK-G7Q/edit?usp=sharing

Additionally,

3—Next, with the list of Rochester groups, organizations, and agencies, please identify which ones YOU can help us reach and place your name in the second column. If you are not a member of a group but know who to contact, would you help us recruit a volunteer to take ownership for engagement?

4—Finally, please review the online Rochester Vision 2050 survey and provide feedback by replying to this email: https://forms.office.com/g/FBBFTTWmYc

In just a few minutes, I will be sending a calendar invitation for Thursday, June 13 at 3 pm in Room 320 at City Hall. We will discuss the following three items:

1. Review the Communities and Organizations/Groups lists and determine how to solicit input from the various communities and which organization(s) can assist us.

2. Discuss the format to introduce Rochester Vision 2050 and how to solicit input and feedback at the RochesterFest Kick-Off and Thursdays Downtown events.

3. Review materials, set-up, and schedules for events.

Thank you for all you are doing to chart the direction of our City into 2050!

~ Michon, on behalf of Mayor Norton and Roger Mader
